New! Linear guide for contaminated environments from NSK
Linear guides are used in various manufacturing equipment applications where they are heavily exposed to contamination and debris from processed metal, graphite, ceramics, rubber, sawdust, weld slag, and others. Under such harsh operating conditions, contaminants invade the linear guide interior and cause abnormal wear of the rolling surface or balls, or hamper smooth ball movement in the recirculation circuit leading to early failure of the linear guide.
The use of bellows to prevent contamination has been ineffective where very minute particles can drift past the barrier or where the debris is so large and heavy that the bellow cover proves impractical. Furthermore, not all applications are compatible with installation of a bellow cover due to equipment configuration or space limitations.
NSK rose to this challenge by designing a linear guide that is capable of withstanding varying degrees of particle and debris contamination with the V1 Series. This linear guide series offers significantly higher resistance to fine particles and debris and achieves long life under contaminated operating conditions.
Typical applications include machine tools, laser equipment, graphite processing machines, tire buffers, wood working equipment, punch presses, welding lines, transfer equipment, and more.

Ballscrews
Since
1958 NSK has produced over one million ball screws to
become one of the world's largest suppliers of high
quality ball screws to leading manufacturers in many
industries. Among them are machine tools, semiconductor
equipment, aerospace, medical instruments and factory
automation. NSK has supplied numerous applications including
machining centers, wire bonders, ventilators, inspection
equipment, and robots.

Linear
Guides
With
the introduction of linear guides in the 1980s, conventional
hardened ways started being replaced by accurate, smooth
and cost effective NSK recirculating roller ball linear
guides.
Linear guides are available off the shelf in a wide
selection of accuracies, pre-loads, coatings, and lubricants.

Monocarriers
The
NSK Monocarrier was developed with a focus on energy
and labor savings in factory automation projects. The
Monocarrier combines a precision ground ball screw with
a specially designed linear guide. The integrated design
means that customers benefit from a multi-functional
systems approach that simplifies design. In addition,
the maintenance-free lubrication unit, NSK K-1™, is
built in as a standard feature and corrosion coating
is included as a standard specification. |
