First Supervisory Control and MMI Software for Windows CE!
CEView is the world's FIRST complete supervisory control, process monitoring and operator interface software available for the Microsoft Windows CE® operating system platform. CEView operates in diskless handheld, pocket, mobile and embedded PCs, including industrial PDAs, making it ideal for end user or OEM applications.
CEView is based on InduSoft's full scale Windows-based supervisory control and monitoring system, currently being used in over 8,000 installations worldwide. CEView has almost all of the same features, including an object-oriented database, math functions, report generation, archiving, alarms, batch recipes, and interfaces for PLCs, remote I/O and TCP/IP networking. In other words, CEView is a full-function supervisory control and monitoring system that fits in the palm of your hand or can be embedded in the chip set of a low-cost operator interface.
Applications include embedded machine or process controls, servo drives, control panels, man-machine interfaces, SCADA and wireless SCADA, data collection, maintenance terminals, PLC interface panels, control panels, machine parameter adjustment, mobile process supervision and many others. CEView is ideal used in embedded systems, in mobile monitoring tools, and for instrumentation and laboratory automation applications.
Highlights:
-
PC Development: Compatibility with InduSoft's Windows NT system allows development and test of applications in a desktop PC. When debugged, the application can be downloaded to the target machine.
-
Maximizes productivity: The I/O screens, recipes, reports, alarms, and history files for a CEView system are created on a desktop PC with the same software tools used to develop full-scale InduSoft Windows NT systems.
-
Communication drivers: The same PLC and remote I/O communications drivers for InduSoft's Windows NT system are available with CEView, including TCP/IP communications with InduSoft NT systems and third-party SCADA packages.
-
Object oriented database: Tag definition supports arrays, classes and pointers, and reduces application size and development time. CEView does NOT require many megabytes of memory, as do many other PC-based MMI bloatware systems. In fact, one CEView application runs in only 700 Kbytes of memory in a palmtop computer.
Hardware Platforms:
- Handheld and Palmtop PCs: CEView runs in any handheld or palmtop PC pre-loaded with WinCE. Applications include maintenance, downloading recipes, and any other task suitable for a complete process monitoring and control system.
- Industrial MMI: Many PC-based industrial MMIs now running an Intel 486 or Pentium processor with at least 4MB of memory can support WinCE and CEView. Using CEView frees the user from black boxes with closed operating systems and complicated drivers. With its library of standard drivers, CEView can connect existing MMI to any PLC.
- Embedded Computers: CEView can be used in any diskless, embedded computer with a chip set that supports WinCE.
Technical Features:
- Object Oriented Screen Editor: Screen creation and application development for the CEView system is accomplished using the screen editor in the powerful object-oriented InduSoft Windows NT/98 system. This editor defines MMI functions, such as commands, association of colors to different variable values, data exchange, color exchange, motion and size control. Once developed, a CEView system can be downloaded to its target processor via any serial interface. CEView applications are upward compatible to any InduSoft NT or 98 system.
- Dynamic Symbol Library: Symbols are available with their dynamic properties for easy selection. User-created symbols can be attached to the library.
- Recipes in ASCII Format: CEView allows easy development of parameter tables and recipes, and storage of process state values.
- Trend and History Files: Real-time data can be displayed as trend graphs or digital summaries on a screen monitor or CRT (if available), or archived for historical purposes using time-stamped files or user defined file names. Archiving can be to hard or floppy disk drives, plug-in memory cards, or RAM.
- Security System: Built-in security system lets user create security policies for both runtime and engineering environments.
- Built-In Reports: CEView allows easy definition of free-formatted reports of real-time and archived data. It can send reports directly to output devices or save them on local memory.
- Networking: TCP/IP software provides seamless real-time data exchange with InduSoft applications running on Windows NT or third party SCADA packages.
- Alarms: User can easily define alarm messages, grouping, filtering and alarm acknowledgement policies.
- Easy Communication Driver Development: CEView is supplied with dozens of standard device drivers for PLCs, networks, fieldbus, I/O and other intelligent systems. When necessary, CEView's Driver Toolkit makes it easy and very fast to develop a custom communications driver. Just create a small DLL file with code that is specific to your field equipment.
- Application Translation: To develop an application in different foreign languages, create a package with messages in text files. CEView allows languages to be switched dynamically.
